As East Fife put together a fantastic squad for next season, neighbours Raith Rovers have come under fire from some sections of their support who feel progress on the signing front at Kirkcaldy has been rather slow. The Pratt’s Treat side have moved to allay these fears however by releasing the team photo for next season. A spokesman said, “The manager is very happy with the team he’s assembled. We have the backbone of last season’s side and some exciting new signings. We really feel we have a side capable of competing.” Since this website seems to attract rather a lot of Rovers fans, we’ve included the team pic here…

So, Scotland get a wee win in Austria to set them up for the trip to the Faroe Islands next week. The goal came courtesy of Garry O’Connor, after which you might have noticed, he made a big point of kissing the badge. Nice of him to do that. Nice of him to f*cking turn up quite frankly. Far be it from us to tell Big Eck who to pick, but does anyone know if East Fife have to give Dundee more money if Craig O’Reilly gets a call-up?

A case of ‘keep it in the family’ this week as East Fife sign Dougie Cameron, son of Kenny, and also enquire about Chris Hegarty, son of Paul and nephew of ex-Fifer Kevin. Bit worried about this to be honest. I have an inherent fear which flares up when we sign relatives of famous players. Don’t know why this should be, but I do remember it kicked in around the time Neil Collins played for us.

This week, Leroy Rosenior was appointed manager of Torquay United. However, ten minutes later and before he even had time to pose with a scarf above his head, he was informed he was no longer in the job as the Club had just been bought over and he wasn’t part of the deal. Outgoing SFA President John McBeth lasted even less time in his new job, making some innocent remark about corruption in the game which the vultures at the English FA managed to claim might have been racist. Result being McBeth was ousted before he’d even started and replaced, funnily enough, by the English nominee. Imagine - all this and yet the dude that does the player registrations at Raith is still in a job.
